I'm confused. Under the Direct TV HD Video setup, I can change native, screen format and bar color. What should they be set on? What isthe best setting for my Sony HD TV's? Both TV's are 1080.

Here's my info:

I set up my HR22 on "Native off", Grey Pillar Bars (for a little "peace of mind" for my 50" Plasma TV burn-in safety), and I set up the Resolution to 1080i .

After setting it up this way on some recommendations here, it's worked well for me. I like the benefit of the channel-switching speed (faster) with Native turned off. Plus, I like how the HR22 handles switching from 16:9 channel material to 1.33:1 with this setup.

What boxes do you check on resolution? All? Just the 1080P? When you say "Grey Pillar Bars" yo are including to categories, right? You mean you selected "Pillar Box" and Bar color set to "Gray"?

Won't checking the pillar box mess up my 16:9 viewing?

FOX News and ESPN are now full screen by CBS HD and NBC HD now have black bars on each side of the picture. I am set on Native off, pillar box, and gray.
