Hey guys;

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting the bigger satellite from Voom? If there is even a *cloud* in the sky, I get bad/horrible reception. This is rediculous.

OK - you may have one or more problems besides too small of a dish. First of all, if you have the diplexor, run another line and eliminate that. Next, repeak the dish using the signal strength meter on the Voom receiver. Most installers peak the dish using a meter at the dish. The problem is that both the Voom and the Dish satellites are at approximately the same location, but not exactly - and there is a 50% chance that your dish was peaked on the wrong satellite.

Eliminating the diplexor and repeaking the dish will likely improve your signal enough to get you through all but the heavier rains. If you still are unsatisfied, then log the call to Voom or Installers Inc complaining of the rain fade. That should get you a 28" dish. Then after they have left - check the signal strength and if it is not above 90, then you will need to repeak again.
