KPI Partners with HGTV to Produce Six High Definition Specials; Six Specials to Premiere in Spring and Summer 2006 Featuring Haute Houseboats, Pampered Pooches and More

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2006--KPI, an independent production company specializing in television programming and new media content, has signed with HGTV to produce a series of six one-hour specials exploring the most spectacular and unique living spaces in the world. The first two specials in HGTV's series are OVERBOARD BOATS--which takes viewers on a tour of extravagant floating homes across the country--and HIGH FLYING HOMES, spotlighting lavish jets, both scheduled to premiere April 8, 2006.

HGTV-HD slated to launch in March 2006, will air some of HGTV's popular lifestyle programming in a high definition format including the KPI-produced specials, and regular programming such as Decorating Sense and Design Remix. In addition, HGTV-HD will air programming from FINE LIVING.

Following on last year's success of MOTOR MANSIONS, which explored high-end motor homes, the KPI specials slated for 2006 take a look at "extreme" spaces.

Glamorous dog houses are the main focus of DOGGONE DESIGN, where doggie digs spotlighted include a five foot tall pooch palazzo designed to look like a seaside cottage.

UP ON THE ROOF explores distinctive rooftop amenities including a $50,000 putting green and exotic Moroccan tents.

In the luxury pools portrayed in BIG SPLASH, viewers are taken on a behind-the-scenes look at swimming pool construction--ranging from a pool built on the edge of canyon to one blasted out of a limestone rock quarry.

OUT ON A LIMB gives viewers a glimpse inside the world of comfort and opulence that can be found high in the tree tops, showcasing the biggest, most technologically enhanced and exotic treehouses designed for grownups.

"These specials give viewers an inside look into 'extreme' architectural feats on land, in the air and sea," said Vincent Kralyevich, president and creative director of KPI. "Shot in HD in locales ranging from London to Las Vegas, all six episodes give viewers a unique perspective on rarely seen spaces."
