Garyd I liked your movie about the history of satelite tv. When I tryed to leave you a lock I was blocked by your mozilla. Maybe that is why you only got 2 likes!
 
Great stuff. My old boss use to have a 12 foot parclipse back in 83'. Was cool back then. Bummed they scramble and ip news feeds now. Makes ya wonder why?
 
Alaska figures prominently in C band history, RCA Alascom implemented one of the largest networks starting in 1975. Hundreds of earth stations were built. Their expertise was enlisted once in awhile for emergencies, and transportable earth stations were shipped where they were needed overseas. Of course video was only a small part of the traffic.
