How and where can I get a devise that will let me split a direct tv signal so I can hook up a DVR to a cable. I already have two cables coming into two receivers now. I plan to peplace one of the receivers with a DVR and need to know how to split the signal inside the house. Thanks. I am new to directv and did not get all the answers before installation.

What dish do you have now? And what model receivers?

But, the SWM is your best option, unless you want to run additional lines.

Are you talking about a standalone DVR or a DTV DVR? If it is a DTV DVR, it should work fine with the cable you now have to the older DTV unit (You will NOT have 2 tuner operation in this manner), but other than that, it should work fine.

If you want 2 tuner operation, you will have to run another line from your antenna OR get a SWM switch (if I understand what you would like to have).
