I tried a random episode of Defiance 4k and the video was terrible. Looked clear for the most part but was very jittery. Amazon & Netflix 4k are smooth as silk via the native SmartTV apps and the TV settings are the same.

Same here. The Hopper 3 showed 51 Mbps download/stream rate, but the images jittered when panning across a valley or other large movement. Actual pixel and color quality looked good but whatever tech they are using is years behind the near UHD Blu-ray quality of HDR/4K streaming on Amazon and Netflix. Hope Dish revamps this service soon.

No it will not.

Dish doesn't support Dolby Digital Plus.
