Land where we pronounce our "R" as "ah"
Here's a new one for me. It doesn't matter what channel I'm watching. Whenever I turn off my receiver and turn it back on, it automatically is on Disney Junior. This isn't a dire issue, but I'd like to be able to turn it on and have the channel I left off at there. Any suggestion as to what my daughter doc to my receiver?

She didn't do anything! It's a new Dish, ahem, 'feature' that has many discussions on it if you search these forums and others. The start up channel will be the one you watch the most. Hoping they make some changes where this can be turned off by us customers.

Just set an auto-tune timer to fire every morning and the receiver should come up with that channel (maybe your daughter set one while you were not looking :D).

It could be that she watches that one channel, while you channel surf, making that one channel the single most watched channel percentage wise.

I understand what you are saying but a couple of days ago mine turned on with It on Disney Jr and I've never watched the channel! I always set my receiver to my ABCi local before going to bed so that it will start there when I turn the system on in the morning. Just a one time glitch in my case I hope.

I turned on my Hopper yesterday and it was on HDNet Movies. I don't think I've watched this channel in a year or so.... ;)

I thought of one thing for which people might want to watch out. If anyone subscribes to the Playboy Channel and that's the most watched channel according to your system. Quite embarrassing when people come over and your TV is set to on there. "Were you watching porn?" "Oh no. I wasn't watching porn just before you came over. It always turns on there because I happen to watch that the most."

I will say this, I woke up this morning and turned the TV on and it was on AMC. This was in my bedroom, and I am the only one that watches. I have maybe had AMC on for a total of <5 minutes in this house. Just not a channel I care about at all. I know for a fact USA is the most "watched" channel because I have been using it as my background channel since getting the hopper. I go to USA, then pull up my recordings, and when it's done it goes back to USA.

Just out of curiosity, did you used to watch HDNet a lot ? No doubt Dish keeps has been keeping track of our viewing data forever.

Apparently Dish has made a change that reset the setting for turn-on. I have the same problem in a Hopper 3. The fix is to go to Menu; Settings; Power; then change the "Power On" setting from "Show Home Screen" to "Tune to Last Channel".

Wow! 6 year old thread resurrection! By the way the option to choose between last channel and smart channel (which is what was discussed above not the home screen) has been around for years.

Settings, Power...............

it's the the feature I watch the most, that would be 138 for Supernatural all day every day. Looking to turn the disney jr. off too.

I solved the whole problem by just setting up an auto tune timer for 4am every morning to tune to my news channel. That way when I get up and hit the power button it immediately takes me to the morning news.
