Curious. Are you able to pick a channel (for auto tune) before you turn off tv/Hopper (or Joey)?
Example. You are watching CNN, channel 200. You go to bed. You turn tv/device on after you wake up. The channel you want (for instance 18) starts. In my case whatever channel is the last one viewed starts next time.
