Are they not both 2 pin connectors (male Joey, female plug...slightly rectangular w/lock clip)?

They are but they both have a small plastic notch on the bottom of the connector and the Wireless Joey notch is smaller than the regular Joey's

Yes the power supply plugs are definitely not the same for the wired and Wireless joeys

The wireless Joey power supply has a higher amperage rating.
