I put up a thread like this about the NHL All-Star Game.

Now, I want to find out how you feel about the NBA's version?

Like the NHL version, people ridicule the lack of defense.

No offense (get it?), but I prefer to see games where the ball actually goes THROUGH the hoops.

Need I remind you of that Spurs/Pistons borefest from 2005?

The game is overrated due the lack of defense. The 3 point contest and dunk contest used to be good when they started but now you don't even get good players competing in them. All the good dunks were done years ago by Jordan and Dominique. Kind of hard to reinvent the wheel now. And the whole event is a thug convention. Good business for local strip clubs, bad for anyone who doesn't want to get in the middle of a rap war or makes the mistake of spilling their drink on Ron Artest.

WTF? Rap war? thug convention? Nice generalizations....

I don't watch the game usually, but I'll watch the 3pt shootout and dunk contest if I'm not doing anything else.

WHAT?! I've come to expect these type of responses from this poster. What a shame.

I like All-Star weekend.

Everything from the 3-point shootout to the dunk contest, including the game the following day. I love it all. Where else can you see a collection of some of the greatest athletes in the world on one, big, bright stage for all to see?
