500 GB - 200 GB left - 32 HD movies so far. Not worried, I have another 500 GB drive ready to go

Havta check mine tonight when I get home. Set it up to record the Fish Tank Channel last night, gotta move that to external to keep as a demo.
After my 622 dumped all of my recorded programs on my internal drive 2 weeks ago, I still have about 75% of it left. No need for external as yet.
So dfergie, how many hours of HD programming fit into the 240GB that you have used?

Surprising to see them so full already. I bought a 750GB, have 611.2 GB available. Of course I had to delete a bunch of stuff over the last 6months so that I had room for current recordings while waiting for the archive software. It sure is nice to be able to permanently save stuff now and not fill up the 622s.
So far with 60 gigs left, 63.5 hours of HD programming... a mix of Mpeg4, Mpeg4 HD locals, Mpeg2 and Mpeg2 Full Rez HBO and SHO from 148...
I haven't filled up mine yet. Still upset over, how you can not use an external HD with another box like the VIP-222. You are still on the Dishnetwork service. If you could use it, I would have mine filled already with porn. LOL
So you've consumed close to 240GB for 63.5 hours of programming. Did you get to the 63.5 by adding up the length of all of your saved programs, or are you reading it off of a screen? I ask because the 622 doesn't always add up the hours correctly.
Length of Programs...plus the 622 info... some looked a little small as I have dealt with some HD OTA and downloads...
3 hrs left for HD when I checked yesterday. I havent really had the problem yet of too little space because when that situation comes around I look at what I have recorded and decide what I will never watch. Delete and voila, more space. Either that or its something on Voom and will be repeated often enough that I can wait. However, having the option of a bigger library of unseen material has its advantages so I will get an external one of these days.
20 movies in HD (about half in MPEG2) on my 750GB drive with 544GB left. 20 hours of HD time left on the internal drive (it was down to 6 hours before external storage came along). So I shouldn't need another ext. drive for awhile yet...
The Demo channel on 61.5 doesn't put on the Fish Tank until 10 P.M., I think. Set it to record overnight and check it the next day.
