How Genie's technology differs from DISH Hopper?

I like to know what need Hopper for have 4 o 5 tuner?

Thanks!

For one, the software does not lock you out of the system, by reserving tuners for primetime nationals, nor does it make you record, what Dish only wants you to record during certain times.

I must have defective units. Neither of mine automatically use a tuner to record PTAT unless I instruct them to. Where can I get these automatic ones?!?!?!?

All sarcasm aside, why bother to answer a question with misleading information at best?

To the OP: it all depends on how many simultaneous tuners you need at one time and your programming choices. If you watch a lot of network programming, the Hopper is fantastic. If you're mainly a cable watcher, PTAT won't do much for you. But even without PTAT, the Hopper can provide four tuners at once 1 OTA (via optional USB module) and 3 satellite. Personally, I'm a fan on the two Hopper setup, and it is what I would recommend for anyone leaning towards Dish who suspects that three satellite tuners wouldn't be enough for their needs.
