I closed out my Directv account a week ago today. They said they would be sending packaging so that I could send my receivers back. Anyone know how long that takes for the packaging to arrive? I imagine it will be here soon, but I want to make sure because I don't want to get stuck with charges from them. Thanks.

When I cancelled one of my boxes, I think it was 2-3 weeks before the shipping box arrived. In fact, I think I called them about a week after the request about the box and they said it was on the way (check's in the mail).

Make sure you make a note as to when you recvd the boxes vs cancelled, this way if there is any dispute you have something to go with, maybe a insurance receipt or something like that.
Just to cover your end of things.

I always check back with DirecTV within a week if you don't receive them(ask for tracking numbers).Because if DirecTV waits long enough you will be charged full price for your receivers then getting your money back is another giant hassle. Also when you send them back write down the tracking numbers and follow them on the shipper's website, when you see they are delivered and signed for print a copy and retain it for your records.Good Luck!;)

Update:

I had disconnected my Directv account on 9-24-09. I had still not received my packaging boxes as of today (10-6-09), so I gave them a call. The CSR got my information and put me on hold for a few minutes. When she came back on, she said that it appeared that I now own the receivers and that they did not need them back. They are 3+ year old D11 models, so I didn't figure they'd want them back, but I'll hang on to them just in case they do ever decide to charge me for them.
