How loyal are you?

If you hold on to such things, post your first DISH (or DirecTV) bill. I've been a DISH Network customer since August 6, 1997. 13 years!

It's actually not really a matter of loyalty, but rather a desire to have television. If cable had been in my area, I may very well have subscribed with them, not knowing any different.

First bill attached...

I am on paperless billing. Been with Dish since 2002, Direct for several years before that and FTA BUD before that. Had a BUD before anything was scrambled.

I don't keep any bills either. Even the few that I still get on paper (because paperless is not available) are shredded after they are paid. Don't see any reason to hold onto such things. I've only been with Dish for the past 5 years (when I moved into my current house), but I've been with Verizon for 12.

I started with USB, now DirecTV and changed to dish several years ago. 2 months ago I purged my files of all bills prior to 2005. They are now in the landfill, but I still have my first remote and USB receiver. My first HD was the RCA DTC100 for Direct.

Not sure how your question relates to loyalty. If your contract is up and "D" has a better monthly rate for similar product and is offering a few freebies would you switch or remain loyal to Dish?

The term "loyalty" was more tongue-in-cheek. Maybe I need to work on my sarcasm. For me, it's such a PITA to change around hardware, with the exception of receivers, I'm not interested in changing anything. So my "loyalty" is more or less complacency. The only time I even considered changing to DirecTV was recently when LOS issues were threatening my HD coverage. Ultimately LOS would probably have been an issue with DirecTV as well. So cutting down a few trees and allowing DISH to upgrade me for free was the path of least resistance.

Bottom line, I never intended the thread to be a serious one. I just ran across my original bill and was amused. I thought it would be fun to post it and see what others had to say.

KAB, apparently, is not liking my threads today, and for that I am sorry.

I said within the thread, the reason I did it. There was nothing wrong with the original thread until some childish, off-topic bickering took over.

What about this thread is repetitive?

KAB, I've always respected your opinion and insight in the multitudes of posts you contribute. As you can see by my relatively low post count in relation to my veteran membership, I do much more reading than posting. I thought, perhaps erroneously, that I was entitled to the occasional frivolous post. I guess I should have put it in the Chit Chat area.

For whatever reason, I was rubbed the wrong way. I felt you were a little too "involved", "fixated" , in other words, non-important stuff as the real world goes.

I apologize.

Whatever I stay w/ E* cuz it gives me what I want and has good equipment. HD Lite comment is BS there have been too many state that they can tell no difference and they have both. I get tired of statements like that. That is just a justification for your decision to go to D*.

Need some help with an interesting issue w/SuperDishes

Anyone else denied hd for life?
