How many 40.0 remotes paired to H3?

I apologize if this has been answered but I did a search and didn't find the info.

How many 40.0 remotes can be paired to the Hopper 3? I have 4 extra 40.0 and had them all paired to my H2. Just got the H3 today and can't seem to get more than the 52.0 and one 40.0 paired.

Does anyone have more than two remotes paired to their H3?

You should be able to pair 8 remotes with the H3. (I currently have 5)

I've got 8 paired, a mix of models.

I think I realize the issue. The remotes that won't pair are 32.0 remotes (blue buttons in the center navigation area vs the white navigation buttons). So I assume they cannot be paired to the H3?

Dang it, now I'm short of remotes as the tech took one of my 40.0 remotes for some reason. Dish has formerly just let you keep them but overall read on other threads the techs are retrieving them for some reason?
