How things have changed

What is torpling?

Go up a few floors in the Torpling building. Step to the inside edge where there are horizontal hoops, spaced apart, going all the way to a padded landing at the bottom. Jump. Must fall thru all the hoops without touching, for max score.

Exciting.

Science Fiction. I'd love to find that short story again.

It was a sci-fi short story. Guy at work gets asked to join his buddies Torpling. He pretended to know what it was about. They went to the building and he jumped. Hit the first ring hard and fell down thru the rest without touching.

They congratulated him on a nice recovery and got a high score.

YouTube TV
An update on our partnership with Fox

In order to provide you with the best in live sports, news, and entertainment, YouTube TV enters into partnerships with content providers like Fox. Our current agreement with Fox is approaching its renewal date, and we are in active negotiations to continue carrying their content. Our priority is to reach a deal that's fair for both sides, as well as our subscribers.

We want to be transparent about these discussions: if we are unable to reach an agreement with Fox by August 27, 2025, their content may become unavailable. If this happens, this will impact channels like the Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News, and Fox Sports, as well as any Library recordings you have from these channels.

We know how frustrating it is to lose channels, which is why it's our goal to keep Fox on YouTube TV. We're committed to continuing to work with Fox to reach an agreement, but if their content becomes unavailable for an extended period of time, we'll offer our subscribers a $10 credit.

If Fox becomes unavailable, you can continue to watch their sports, news, and shows by signing up for Fox One. For more information on the impact to our Spanish Plus, 4K, Sports Plus, and Fox Nation add-ons, please visit our Help Center.

We hope YouTube TV continues to be your service of choice, but we understand some of our members may want to cancel their subscriptions. As always, family managers have the ability to pause or cancel anytime.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to advocate on behalf of our subscribers and work towards an agreement with Fox. We will continue to update our Help Center with the latest. As always, we sincerely appreciate your YouTube TV membership.

Sincerely,
The YouTube TV team

Fox is wanting a increase in per sub fees, when contracts are up for renewal with other providers, Cable, Satellite, live streaming services, you will see the same thing.

Another reason to subscribe to their streaming services, instead of paid live tv, never have to worry about these provider contract issues.

Subbing to their direct will be No Different ...

They will Raise rates, whenever they want ... its the same thing here, the Network Fox wants more money, just like every other service.

Difference being, the Old Style usually had contracts for multiple years, so this happened one in a while, it just happened with different Networks, so it seems like it happens more often .

Fox Direct will more than likely up thier price every year or two, like most others ... hope not, but its really no different if its on a YTTV or a Cable comp or a Direct to customer.

Since networks/cable channels/studios are now losing over 2 million per sub fees a year( now about 35 Million in total) due to cord cutting, along with advertisers fleeing to streaming services.

They have to make that revenue up, hence why we have more contract issues, due to the increases they want in those per sub fees and providers not wishing to pay, because they know when that is passed on to subscribers, it will cause even more to leave, due to the increased bills.

One of the main reasons cord cutting has not slowed down as predicted, people do not want to pay that much, specially with the reduced content.

Question ....

Is Fox Network, not, the Same company as Fox Streaming ....

It all goes to the Fox corporation ...

Same situation as most other Networks ... the money still goes to the Parent company.

Which has nothing to do with what I posted.

Fox wants more revenue from per sub fees, hence contract disputes……end of story.
