I am happy with my Roku Ultra. I note that my TV, AVR and the Ultra seem to take the better part of a minute to finish handshaking. Not sure who's the culprit.

we never had any issues with the handshaking!!!

In September, the big premiere month for Traditional TV, streaming is still ahead by a little.

I do expect it to flip flop a few times the next few months, but with the continued cord cutting and the gains for streaming services, I expect Traditional TV to finally fall behind, after Football Season.

I thought it was being absorbed by Disney ?

If so, you'll access it from the Disney app, I'd imagine.

i have no idea whats going on with it cord cutters seems to think it's shutting down next year. though luke has been very annoying lately with his videos

It is not shutting down. They are just killing off the Hulu app. You will still be able to get Hulu separately if you want. But you will, have to watch it via the Disney+ app.

Doesn't surprise me. Promise your service as the low cost alternative to cable, kill off the competition (cable) then charge whatever you want. So one way or another the consumer gets the shaft.

Well, the problem for the media companies is that piracy becomes a much more attractive option when the prices get too high. Indeed, piracy rates have been steadily increasing after years of low numbers due to affordable streaming options (at the time). I personally don't like the idea of pirating content, but I understand how the price increases make it a much more attractive option.

I downgraded my Netflix and HBOmax subscriptions to the HD tier as I didn't see the value of their so-called "4k HDR" streams, and Peacock is likely to not get renewed next year, so even I have my limits.
