I`m wanting to program a new code into my Directv Plus HD DVR. The manual tells me to access the Quick Menu on my RC34 remote by hitting MENU. This gives me MY PLAYLIST, CINEMA plus, etc., not the SETTINGS, HELP, SET UP, etc. screens.
What am I doing wrong??

New code ?

I have not seen the Quick Menu mentioned in quite along time now.
What exactly are you trying to do and what recvr are you doing it with ?

Quick Tune, is a newer item D* has added not too long ago .... IF thats what you were referring to , use the UP arrow around the Select button.

The Yellow button will bring up a small menu with TV Options : Prev. Channel, Sub Titled, Closed Captioning and Favorites list.

Jimbo - Sorry, I should have posted a new code for my new Samsung television. I want to be able to control the volume with my DTV remote.

Program your remote for your tv by sliding the selector switch over to the right so it is in the tv mode. Press and hold the mute and select buttons. When the light flashes twice enter one of these codes. Once you have entered a code press the vol. up or down or the power button. If your volume and power does not respond then repeat the procedure until the power and volume does.

Samsung tv codes, 10060, 10812, 10702, 10178, 10030, 11959, 11903, 11575, 11395, 11312, 11249, 11060, 10814, 10766, 10618, 10482, 10427, 10408, 10329, 10057, 10037, 10032, 10019, 10264.

cspiteri,
What recvr are you using ?

I was wondering because when I got my first HR24, there was a change in the remote programming feature, you gointo the remote section and it does it itself.

Now the older recvrs didn't do it like that, you had to put in the codes like Cave said.

Thanks for both the procedure and the codes Cave. My HD DVR is the old HR20 configuration. The manual is useless for programming the codes. I can`t remember how I was able to get my old Mits TV codes programmed in.

Most HD receivers you go into the setup and "program remote" and you put in what brand of TV it is. They list the codes on screen and how to set it up
