I am having a new 1000.2 dish installed on Monday in order to receive programming (RSN HD) off 129. I currently have two dishes (Dish 500's), one dual LNB pointed at 110/119, one single LNB pointed at 61.5.
I read about the Dish 1000.2 and it indicates that the Dish Plus Pro Twin LNBF will not work with a DP34 switch (I have three). The manual says a Dish Pro Dual LNBF will work with a DP34 switch.
I also want to keep the 61.5 dish to be used in the future for my local HD channels when they become available.
So my question is; It appears that the 1000.2 will have three cables going to my DP34 switch(s). The DP34 only allows three cables to be attached from the dishes.
My contact at Dish said to have the installer "install an external switch to tie in the 61.5 location".
Does anyone know what this external switch is?
I need to be able to talk inteligently to the installer on Monday.
I also realize that a DP44 switch will work but am not sure if Dish will stand the $525 cost for three of them to replace the DP34's I currently have.
Any suggestions on how to tie the 61.5 dish in with the 110/119/129 dish?
