How to hook up DVD Player to Computer?

Howdy.

I've got a DVD Player with TV Guardian capabilities that has your regular audio/video ports/s video port and I would like to hook up to my Windows computer.I'm out of options for spare TVs so you can understand why I'm thinking of turning my computer into a media center. Is this possible? I've done some research only find that I'll need a TV tuner for the computer, but I'm not sure what kind or how to go about setting one of these things up Can this be done?

Thanks for the response. According to the specifications on thisNewegg.com - SABRENT TV Tuner / Video Capture / MPEG Recording PCI Card with Remote Control TV-PCIRC PCI Interface tuner card, there is no option for recording audio; however, would it be possible to buy an RCA audio converter plug which would have one end hooked up to the DVR and the other end plugged into my computers sound card, and then record audio that way?
