How to make dish625 to recognize and be able to record with timers on a dvdr philips?

My dvd recorder is Philips dvdr3455h and my dish network receiver is the 625 dvr. I just want the dish network box to make the dvd recorder to record from the dish guide. This was very easy before with the older versions of dish boxes attached to vcrs, but I really can't do it now, please help! I see the erd enable thing and I enable it, but the dvd recorder doesnt record those timers
