How to upgrade a Wally EHD?

I did a search and the most recent posting I found about cloning a Dish EHD is a few years old so I'm not sure it still applies. Is it possible to clone an external harddrive from a Wally and not lose the recordings? If so, what's the procedure? Best software to use? I'm looking to go from 500Gb to 1Tb. I've done more PC clones than I can count but I know there's something funky on the Dish harddrives so safer to ask. Thanks.

I don’t have access to my Wally right now (it is on the other side of the country in preparation to serve in my parents vacation home), but won’t the Wally accept two external drives at a time? That might be the easiest way (albeit slowest as well since you would be limited to USB 2.0).

Otherwise last I checked the Linux method still worked, I did a transfer that way about 6 months ago using a LiveCD of Manjaro (it was one of my Hopper EHDs, however).
