I have a single line SWM LNB setup, the coax runs from the LNB to the power inserter and then to the SAT-1 input of the HR receiver. My question is should I put a terminator cap on the SAt-2 input of the HR receiver? The system is working OK, just curious.

Thanks................................................

I don't have one on either of my R22 DVR's. When the installer came and upgraded me to HD he just disconnected the cable I had from tuner 2 to the multiswitch (I had gone from a SD setup to a SWM HD setup) and didnt do anything with that port.

Honestly I dont think its necessary to cap it.

It would not accomplish a thing.

Terminator caps would only be necessary on signal out puts (if that) and the sat2 line in is an input.

the only time I've covered the input of something is like a multiswitch that has a antenna input.

It won't hurt anything by do it.
I will put a cap or terminator over them when I put them outside even though they do not come with them just to protect them from the weather.
I simply just take the caps or terminators that I take off the outputs of the multiswitch anf place them on any of the unused in ports.
