I searched the forums and I couldn't find an answer to my question. I apologize if this has been discussed and resolved. I purchased an HR20-700 at Best Buy about 3 weeks ago. It seems to be working fine, no problems with recording, or watching programs. However, it sounds like a hard-drive is always running. This occurs even when the receiver is off. My question: Is this normal? Also, I ran a system check and it said my internal temp was 127 degrees. Is this also normal? As I said everything seems to be working just fine.

These units are never really off. You can put them in "standby", but the hard drive keeping spinning.
That temperature seems a bit high to me. I don't know what other HR20s run at normally, but my HR10 is at about 41 centigrade (106 F). I'd put an inch standoff under it.

127* is about normal for this unit, mine usually runs between 120 and 127,sometimes less
