HR20-700 (Locking up)

Has anyone else experienced this problem with the HR20-700 HD-DVR? About once a week, the receiver locks up. The remote will not change channels or do any other function. The face panel of the HD-DVR also does not function. You need to reset the receiver and then all works OK.

Same problem as you with the HR20

About once a week I have to pull the plug to get it to go off.

Also on the R15 model the fan runs constintly (keeps me awake at night)

I also had this problem. I got the unit exchanged by DirecTV as I as still within warranty.

Mine locked up once per week on some of the old software, but it has been rock solid for the last couple of updates. (Knock wood!)

I've had a HR20-700 HD-DVR for a week now, and it's been rock-solid. The software was updated on installation to version 0xfa on 11/28. I have a DIRECTV Plus DVR in one of the other rooms that had the well-documented lockups. It would not download updates, even when forced, so DTV replaced it with another one, which after the updates now works great. Now, I don't know if this problem is similar with the HR20, just a thought.
