HR22 HD-DVR Ethernet Connections

In the rear of the unit, there are two internet connectors, is this a "pass through"?


the top ethernet slot is for incoming internet connectivity.


is the bottom an "out" slot that can be used to connect an additional "network equipped" unit like my Blu-Ray Player ?

I don't have any gaming systems....




but I used it as a pass through to my Blu-Ray and it (BR) was able to download the firmware update so I figured it was exactly that, a pass through.

I missed the BR comment. No prob.

It does work, but some say that by doing so it may impact the operation of the DVR as it takes CPU cycles to do it.
