HR22 wont recognize AM21

Does any other company make an off air tuner that will work with Directv.

AM21 ota tuner problems

I connected my am21 to my HR22-100 correctly but can't scan for channels to set it up. I tried entering the zip codes for my off air channels and the edit channel is not highlighted and you can't click on it with the remote.I tried another am21 tuner with the same results.I have updated the software on my HR22-100 and tried two diffrent usb plugs with the same results.The AM21 doen't show up on the hr22-100 as being connected. I have talked to three different Directv Techs and they don't have a clue of what the problem is. I think it might be a bad usb on my HR22-100 but I don't know how to check it. Directv wants $50. to send a Tech to check it out. Does anyone know what my problem might be?

have you tried a red button reboot?

I know the AM21 works with all the DVR's

Do you have a cell phone? Try using the usb on the dvr to charge it. That should tell you if the port is working or not.

Problem solved,I had an antenna problem.

You couldn't have set up the zip codes if the dvr was not recognizing the AM21, because unless the AM21 is connected you do not have any antenna options. I was going to suggest you check all your antenna connections,because unless the AM21 is receiving a signal from the antenna you will not see any of the OTA channels. I just had to go 40 feet back up on the roof because I screwed up a crimp connection, of course it had to be the one on the antenna and not one I could get to from the ground.
