I have a HR24 and a HR20, I read some time ago that it was possible to connect both units via ethernet through a router. Avoiding the SWM since a DECA comes internally with the HR24.

Can anyone confirm if this should work, if I need to call just to add the $3 per month, etc?

Thanks

It will work, but it's unsupported by Directv. There is a specific process to get them to activate it. It involves sending them an email, but I'm not sure of the exact process. Check at dbstalk.com. Someone there posted how to go about it.

Thank you very much for the information, was a very easy process and now streaming from one unit to another via ethernet.
