Interesting that it claims to offer the Big 4 Nets. Wonder what the qualifications are for those. Are they national feeds? Doesn't this make Youtube TV the first to offer all 4? Seems suspect to me...

EDIT: I see it's rolling out market-to-market, not nationwide...

Yeah, just like PS Vue, if you aren't in-market, you don't get locals.

The quoted article doesn't make that clear, however.

How do they determine if you are "in market?" my ISP pretty regularly routes traffic through Chicago, St Louis, Dallas, etc, so I HOPE they aren't basing it on that.

Based on your zip code apparently, although I am sure when it comes time to sign up, it will be by Nielsen DMA. If you go here and sign up, they will let you know when it is available in your location:

Waiting to see the details but at first glance I think it could be a hit. But as always the devil is in the details. All four networks on board is terrific, but does everyone qualify or are only some markets included - such as O&O only. A big advantage with Youtube is the ease to cast it from a mobile device they were early adopters and have a couple ways to do it. (Chromecast, DLNA among them but there are more) But will their TV service be able to cast to a TV? Of course we have to see what cable channels are included but as a guess it will be similar to the Flex list. ( which is good)

If it's similar to Playstation Vue, then it looks as though they take your zip code when you sign up, and then they capture the perceived location of your ISP. Then they use that info to assign your locals (if any). From that point on, they consider that location your "home address." While I understand why they choose that methodology, it's flawed because not every ISP shows your exact, or even general, location. I use Verizon hotspots for service in several locations, and those are notorious for showing my location as California, Texas, you name it. I don't necessarily want my "home location" based off of one IP grab. I like the way Dish does it. You give them an address, and their system validates it. They can even override a bad address if it's a new home which isn't on the grid yet.

Am I misunderstanding your post? Where do you see a channel list for Youtube TV?

You guys do know that Flex pack is $30 for 1 room.

And you aren't streaming to any devices with out a Sling loaded DVR.
Which adds more dough.

Both Sling Orange and Blue offer more at $40 than Flex.
And it can be used anywhere on multiple devices.

If you're old and Cheap than Flex pack is good.
