Hughes GXCEBOT screen feezes and rainbow colors

I just got a used Hughes GXCEBOT DirecTiVo receiver. At times the screen loses all color (B&W) or does a rainbow of colors and even freezes. I plan on doing a space hack so if it is a hard drive problem, I should be ok. However, I don't want to do that if it is a processor issue. Anyone had similar issues or have any ideas on what the cause could be or how to fix it.
