whats the best way to hookup xbox live for the 360 to my computer and my hughes sat?.the 360 is only about 25 feet away.thanks for your help!

Just run an ethernet cable if you can. It will be best. You will need some type of wired router.

i bought the linksys dual band wireless a+g broadband router.so i need to run the ethernet cable from there to the xbox or would be better to buy the xbox wireless adapter?.thanks!

If you can, always go wired. As good as wireless is, right now wired is faster then wireless A/G and lets chance of interferance.

Yep, get yourself a router. Cross over cable can work but you need to get IP addresses and since you are asking, make it easy on yourself and get a router.
