I have the Panasonic SC-HT800V all in one home theater system as well as the Panasonic PT-47X54 Projection TV. I have DirectTV HD DVR as well. I cant get any sound from the surround sound. The DVD's plays fine. Is there possibly as diagram or can anyone send me instructions on how I should connect these devices. I did everything possible according to the manual and nothing seems to work.

Welcome to SaTELLITEGUYS.US!! :)

How do you have your HD-DVR hooked to your Panny surround?

It sounds like you might have an issue with your Panasonic receiver and not the satellite receiver. Ideally you'd be using an optical cable, but regardless of which cable you use you'd probably have to set it correctly in your HT setup.

Have you enabled Dolby 5.1 on theDVR. You have to manually enable it in the settings/audio menu and make sure you are using optical out, that is the only digital out. Also if that doesn't work you may have a bad optical cable they are easy to break.
