Sadly JC Bailey died the other day at 26 a few days after his birthday...RIP :(

Professionally, Bailey was a former CZW Ultraviolent Underground Champion, CZW Tag Team Champion 3 times IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Championship and 2010 King Of The Death Matches.

If anybody follows the Indy scene its no secret JC had some drug issues and has been in jail for it. But it sounded like he had tried to turn his life around.
He did both the high flying and the hardcore stuff. 2 hardcore matches I wont forget are when he and Mad Man Pondo did the "circus death match" in IWA Mid South

and at the Hardcore Cup in Milwaukee (I was there) against Corporal Robinson. Still a great match. Still cringe at where Bailey got to "keep" a dollar bill ;)

PWTorch writeup:

Independent wrestler J.C. Bailey (Joseph Carl Bailey, Jr.) was found dead this morning at the age of 27. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Bailey was an undersized wrestler who mainly wrestled a high-flying, hardcore style for various independent promotions promoting hardcore wrestling, mainly Philadelphia-based CZW.

There are numerous clips from Bailey's career on YouTube showing him participating in violent, weapon-filled matches taking hard bumps and blows to the head. CZW issued a statement this morning after the news came out on Bailey's death:

It is with great sadness that CZW management has the unfortunate duty to again report on the news of the passing of another one of its own. Early this morning, CZW officials learned that Joseph Carl “JC” Bailey Jr. passed away in his home at the age of 27. JC was a beloved member of the CZW locker room, and a member of the extended Combat Zone family for nearly a decade. As a performer, JC was fearless. He was renowned and admired by fans and colleagues alike for his toughness, his resilience, and for the undying passion he showed for the sport of Professional Wrestling… the sport he loved. Away from the ring, JC was a true friend to so many people, and today, we all remember him, and mourn his loss. Rest in Peace JC Bailey.
