Hi There, I am a new guy to this blog.

I have a house that has some wiring already installed for TV services because I see coaxial cables coming out of the wall from each room. I have direct tv, but i also want to install an antenna to receive free TV signals. Problem is how do I know which one of the cables are going in as a source and which ones are outlet wires. Are there any tools to use for that purpose. There is a box outside of the house but again same problem and I am not sure how they are connected. Are there books that talk about that? Hope I can get some answers here. Thanks.

I have used toners designed for telco work. Depending on where they go - through a common grond block, etc., it can be easy or hard to trace. I have also used an ohm meter to check to be sure all lines are open, then put a resistor on them one at a time and traced them out. I do not know of an easier way. Maybe someone else will.
