Installing New DVR

I decided I wanted another DVR because I like my ViP722 so much. I went with the 612 because it doesn't need as much storage and it was way cheaper than another 722.

So here's the scoop. I called Dish about a week ago and they said that I could buy my DVR on my own and they would help me set it up. So I buy an NIB one off of ebay. I get it today and take the coax off the back of my 722 and connect it to the 612 because I know it is a good connection and thats one less thing to troubleshoot on initial install.

So here I am, with a 612 that can't get a signal. On the 722, all my Transponders are 19 and 110, 119, 129, and 61.5 all get good signal. Apparently, such is not the case with the 612. If there is already a thread on how to do an install, sorry for the repost. I'm just looking for some help ATM. Any and all is appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like you have a bad 612 the receiver can't be activated until it receives a satellite signal. Did you run a switch test after connecting both cables or 1 cable and separator?

Yes, I got an all OK on that. I can get some channels like NASA and whatnot. I also can see the guide.

So I just need to call and ask them to activate it?
