Caught a couple of things that were new and slightly interesting on the "My Programming" tab via Dish.com. One was an Ohio Gross Earnings Tax Reimbursement and a unreturned LNB fee which was waived. They must want those LNBs now even if you are a current subscriber and have been since 2005/6.

*edit: The fee that has me concerned even though it was waived is the LNB fee. I thought you were only charged those fees when you disconnect service and don't return the LNB. (which is usually waived if you can't safely remove the LNB from the dish)

:popcorn maybe this thread will turn into to one of my favorite threads, the how much is your bill thread J/K

But in all seriousness seeing that LNB part on you bill is something I have never seen

The not returned LNB charge should probably be looked at by Dirt (even if it is a 0 charge). You do not want some issue in the future if you ever disconnect...

I think Dish's automated system needs a good tune up.I see way too many complaints of this nature. We upgraded a 501 (owned) to a 211 back in Sept.So of course that means nothing to return, was also assured of that when communicating with them.Log into our Dish account a couple weeks back to check on a replacement sling (ours kicked the bucket) to my surprise in the return not yet returned to Dish category was listed a smartcard. There was never no mention of it when upgrading the 501.Anyway contacted MattG,it took him a bit but finally said not to worry about the smartcard.I informed him no problem for me to send it back but, they never asked for it nor did they send a return envelope for it.Logged in today to check the status of the return to Dish sling and the smartcard is still listed. Please Dish try to get these very annoying bugs fixed!

Things one learns here.
The Ohio Gross Earnings Tax is a "because we can" tax passed in 2008. I had no idea it existed until now. It is a 0.26% tax on businesses' gross income over $1M in Ohio (food sales are exempt thanks to an Ohio Supreme Court Ruling). Sales tax has been showing on our bills for many years now but this line item is relatively new. If I read the rules correctly, a line item was not allowed until very recently. Now that it is a line item it is a defacto price increase since Dish was absorbing the tax in our monthly fee for 4 years and now it doesn't

This is a tax by the state on businesses for the privilege of doing business in the state so every subscriber essentially pays the same. I have the same .20¢ line item on my bill. It used to show up as OH State Surcharge and started showing up in July of this year.

This is not
