What I meant is the HD would be new but if they require certain specific models that are no longer being made, the date could still be from the last it was made which can be many years ago. Since they will most likely buy the OEM versions, they would not have a warranty even if it's a current model. These would have to have a new HD or it would have to say reman, even if the rest of the rec is brand new. The Hopper Duos were new but had recycled HDs and were ALL labeled as remans.
Both of these were sealed in that original anti static packaging like the good old days.
Gotcha. What I meant is the HD would be new but if they require certain specific models that are no longer being made,
Sure, right after navychop leaves Dish, they would come out with the Hopper 4!![]()
Here's a pic of the packaging it came in. You dealers will recognize it instantly.

Yep, the remans come in this shrink wrap type of plastic and have very different looking labels.I've been out of the business almost 20 years and they're still packing new receivers that way.
that would be a kick in the ballsSure, right after navychop leaves Dish, they would come out with the Hopper 4!![]()
. that will never happen.the red navychop record lightWith a recording light!

DTV is tying to push new subs to there streaming sh*t!!! doubtful DTV will be making anymore sat boxes anytime soon... I think dish will take over the DTV subs in time..I wonder if starting up the manufacturing again has anything to do with DTV's future.
How does dish know if a box is fleesed or owned.I honestly didn't know they were still making H3s. Haven't seen one in years but today I got a replacement H3 and when I opened the box...what do you know, a NEW H3. I had forgotten how easy it was to read the R- and S- numbers off a new unit vs a reman. I guess since it is new and not a reman it also has a new HD.
That info shows up when we look up a customer's acct. It will show the rec info and below it say owned or leased aka fleesedHow does dish know if a box is fleesed or owned.
so even before it's activated it shows up as purchasedThat info shows up when we look up a customer's acct. It will show the rec info and below it say owned or leased aka fleesed![]()

I know that I seen that section of my acct. I was speaking about non activated hardware purchased from like solid signal. If you login to your Dish account, under my account > my equipment it will show you. There was a big problem in the 00's with Dish marking owned equipment as leased, and of course it was a nightmare to get it corrected.
In the early days, Dish gave you the equipment before they switched to the leasing model. There was even a period of time where they ran an owning and leasing campaign together, "Digital Home Advantage" but the only way to get more than 2 receivers without buying was leasing.

The rubber feet! Do they still melt like the ones that were on the old Echo/HTS C-band IR/D's like Tracker VIII?Nope....actual NEW H3. You can always tell a reman if from nothing else from the coax connection and the ant port. Part # is 207406 and it is listed as "NEW BULK". Even the rubber feet on the bottom are perfectly clean and those suckers look used from day one.
It states that it is made in China. It has been quite a while so I might be remembering this wrong but seems like they used to be made in India.
But then still gets an activation payment...right?Depends on if a customer buys it for cash or if it ends up on a leased account and Dish reimburses the retailer. If it's sitting on the shelf at SS it's not tied to a customer account.
Basically the distributor sells the equipment to a retailer, they sign up a new subscriber and activate the equipment on that account. Dish then pays the retailer their commission for the new customer and reimburses them for the equipment. The retailer can also just sell the receiver to a customer for cash.
