overseatv.com i just called them and it was a pretty crappy experience. i couldn't understand what the guy was saying -terrible english. he listed off 8 german channels and i didn't recognize except ARD & ZDF. he was saying things like 'Romeo' 'DSF' 'ARDE'. i'm pretty sure i didn't hear anything trying to sound like Sat1 or ProSieben either. it's $500 for the receiver or lease for $29.95/mo with a $130 deposit.

+ Dishes delayed. greeeeat. i've moved into a new apt and was waiting to get the new + dish. i don't want a superdish121. i guess i'll just have to wait through the delay.

we got our first dish 1000+ on monday and hooked it up it 's setting are much like out superdishhere in los angeles but from what they are telling us and from what i saw and from what our regional director said is the signal on the 118.7 could only reach about mid 40's to 50's so is this going to be another 129 sat?

Don't get a superdish!

The LNBFs are crap. They are effected by heat, DW-TV is gone completly and ProSeiben only works at night for me. Dish won't admit it's defective and will charge me to come out since I got the great free Globecast to Dish 'upgrade'. I've been waiting for the Intls to move before I upgrade to HD hoping they will swap the dish. I'm not sure what to do now as I am paying for channels I don't really get.

I'm hearing word that the delay in rollout is about 3 weeks out with no reason given for the delay. Take it with a grain of salt since this may not be the case for your particular region.

[EDIT]: This info may be incorrect since they're in stock at the warehouses.

rumor is that 118.7 launches July 6 and supplies begin shipping July 1.

as of yesterday Dishnetwork is still only officially offering ch. 726 (PRSBN) and ch. 725 (DWTV) from the 121 satellite. i had a July 7 install for PRSBN and i could not get a Dish 500+ for my install appointment -only a superdish121.

evidently still too early to receive a 500+ from 800.333.DISH

on a second note, i just saw a big ol' long dish network advertisement (auf Englisch) on PRSBN. very good looking commercial with modern good looking people talking about very attractive DN programming packages. But i didn't like seeing on PRSBN at all. I take a trip in my mind to Germany when i watch PRSBN. I don't want to see American Advertising CRAP on PRSBN! in english too. up to this point there was no CRAP on PRSBN. this better stop!

on another note, is Dish network re-thinking their original plan of putting the Int'ls on the 118.7 and instead going to put the HDs on the 118.7? maybe they actually notice what is said here.

You perhaps missed from a post above this:
Code:
tpn14:TID=714, [B]118.0W [/B]11.980 GHz LHCP 26000 1/2 QPSK, DVB-S
  680, 4130, 4131, 0, PHNIX MPEG-2
  681, 4386, 4387, 0, CCTV4 MPEG-2
  685, 4642, 4643, 0, ETCHI MPEG-2
  688, 4898, 4899, 0, JET MPEG-2
  725, 5154, 5155, 0, [B]DWTV[/B] MPEG-2
  726, 5410, 5411, 0, [B]PRSBN[/B] MPEG-2
  811, 5666, 5667, 0, SAWLD MPEG-2
  818, 5922, 5923, 0, ATN MPEG-2

What could better then official statement ? REAL SIGNAL. :)

Look, they're using QPSK Turbocoding at SR 21500 at 118.75W, each tpn barely handle 24 Mbps max. How you will squize more then 2 HD channels there ?
Check current rates by yourself as for last night, look at bottom part of each tpn htm page.

Is Dish going to move or mirror ALL international channels on the 118.7? I only have SW view from my balcony and need a one dish solution able to get all HD and one particular foreign channel (Globo).

Thanks

Sergio

I kept telling the tech at 800.333.DISH (who was telling me that the german channels are still only officially available at the 121) that PRSBN has been confirmed on the 118.7 since as far back as June 4th.

I saw your post (#31) Smith. that why i posted my experience with Dish that day right after that.

Let me put-forth the prediction that the + Dishes won't be available through 800.333.DISH until NOVEMBER. REDIculous -i know.

I am going to be in a interesting situation. I live about 30 miles North of the Detroit DMA, and have 'moved' to get the Detroit locals.

I would like to have them in HD using the new Dish 1000+. Everything I have seen so far indicates a cost of around $340. I already have a D1000 and a DPP44 switch. So if I end up buying the 1000+ I can recoupe $100 or so selling the new DPP44. Then I can use the old 1000 on my camper...

Anyway, people are calling and getting a free upgrade to a 500+, and probally can get a reduced installed price on a 1000+. I probally can't do that because I have 'moved'. If I moved back home, I wouldn't be eligible since I'm out of the DMA and would have Flint channels, which have no HD LiL.

Here is the question: If I 'moved' back home, and called to sub an international package requiring a D1000+ install (I have HD too) is there any reduction in the cost of the dish? I assume I could call a few weeks after the install and cancel the international - given it wasn't what I expected. A few weeks later - 'move' back to my second home.

Does dish do anything for customers adding internationals, or sock it to them? I just hate the idea of paying $200+ for a new dish, I just bought the D1000 for $100 four months ago.

Masterdeals,
I am in the exact same situation, if you do attempt the double move please let me know how it comes out. BTW, where did you see the $340 for the 1000+?
