You might have noticed a loading graphic on the top right of the page when you first came to SatelliteGuys today, this is because SatelliteGuys is taking part in Internet Slowdown Day.

Now we are not slowing the site down, we are just joining with many other websites in protesting the FCC's plans to wipe out Net Neutrality as we know it.

For me... a Data Packet is a Data Packet... no matter who sends it... it is still a data packet.

Under the new FCC plans it gives cable companies permission to slow down the delivery of data packets of companies who send a large amount of data. And then allows the cable companies to negotiate a fee with those companies who's data it is slowing down to go back to full speed again.

All companies that use the internet pay for their bandwidth to transmit their site to you, and you and turn subscribe to your ISP and the bandwidth you use is paid for by you. Do you think that a cable company should be able to say "Hey we notice your sending a lot of data to our customers, and because your so popular we want to you pay us a lot of money each month... or if you don't we are going to slow down all the data your sending to us which could make your site unusable to our customers.

AT&T & WOW Cable must be participating in Internet Slowdown Day because I've been seeing the spinning wheel(I have a Mac) ALOT using BOTH ISPs.
