I was taking a look at Dish Networks 10Q statement today and noticed a new lawsuit from "Global Communications, Inc." whom I believe is the parent company of Invacom (a SatelliteGuys sponsor)

Global Communications

In April 2007, Global Communications, Inc. (“Global”) filed a patent infringement action against us in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The suit alleges infringement of United States Patent No. 6,947,702. This patent, which involves satellite reception, was issued in September 2005. We intend to vigorously defend this case. In the event that a Court ultimately determines that we infringe the 6,947,702 patent, we may be subject to substantial damages, which may include treble damages and/or an injunction. We cannot predict with any degree of certainty the outcome of the suit or determine the extent of any potential liability or damages.

Anyone know what Patent No. 6,947,702 is?

I would like to point out that neither Invacom Ltd nor Global Communications (UK) Ltd are suing Dish network.

Global Communications inc is NOTHING to do with & has NO associations with Global Communications (UK) Ltd

I just received the following from Invacom.

Neither Invacom nor sister company Global Communications (UK) Ltd are
or have any intension of suing Dish Networks. Global Communications (UK)
Ltd does not own Invacom - we are Sister Companies

Both Invacom & Global Communications (UK) Ltd have excellent trading
relations with EchoStar & look forward to continuing this relationship

Global Communications inc & Global Communications (UK) Ltd have No links
whatsoever & are completely different companies

I hope that puts this to rest.
