IR Extender

Can someone recommend a good IR extender? I've tried both the Leapfrog (Terk) and the one at Radio SHack and boh wrk only intermittantly. They are only about 25 feet apart, but my equipment closet is in between them...possibly causing some interference.

Is there a good hard-wired one that someone can recommend?

I use a Xantech IR repeater system; 4-output connecting block using 2 dual emitters and 2 single emitters and an IR receiver (i think the dinky link). Had it since 2001 and haven't had any problems with it.

I too, recommend the Xantech system. I have never had any trouble since I installed it, unlike the wireless repeaters.

A guy at work told me he uses CAT5 for the wire between the IR receiver and the connector block. It must be my lucky day because I ran two extra CAT5s to that wall!
