IR/RF Question

New D* customer here and in my living room setup the HR24 is sitting just far enough back on the shelf that I'm having trouble getting every remote click to be picked up. Questions:

1) Is there an input for an IR extender?
2) Is there another passive IR extender setup that someone could recommend? I don't really want to put in a whole power IR setup.
3) Should I just switch to RF? What are the pros and cons of this?

1) No.
2) There are IR extenders that you can buy that aren't for the whole house systems
3) This is your best option. The only con might be that other RF appliances could interfere.

I'd try # 3 and see how that goes, normally you won't have any issues with the RF, but some instances there are difficulties due to other RF in the area.
