Is the SA 8300 HD DVR the "latest" box...

Comcast offers in the HD DVR segment? I have two of them and I hate them. Terrible boxes. All sorts of weird issues and glitches. The CSR I talked to told me those were the "new" boxes. Are they? I'm in Charleston, SC. The box for my TV in the bedroom continues to reset itself and I have to continually go into the HD setup menu to get it to display an HD signal. It is connected with a HDMI. I use "pass through" as the option on the main TV, but this box, while identical on the outside, does not have the pass-through option. Very annoying!

Is there anything better out there?

I have a Motorola 6412 and a Motorola 3416, 120 and 160 gig hard drives respectively. I am happy with them for the most part. They have been talikin about a new Panasonic box for some time, but I haven't seen or heard of it being out yet.

Motorolas will not work at an SA head end. I'd get that DVR replaced, it has a problem if it keeps resetting itself.

Are your boxes of the 8300HD or 8300HDC flavor? If they are HDC models, there are known issues with these boxes on Comcast, so exchanging yours for another one of the same would not help.
