I have 2 ku band dishes.

One aimed at Galaxy 19, and the other one where RTV used to be.

Is there any ku satellite with any good channels, worth re-aiming the other ku dish at?

If you are a feed hunter or into sports you might like 85W or 91W. No regular channels there though except news one on 91w.

125W PBS
121W if'n you're into motoring
103W COZI, & 'hidden' audio channels
72W EnBeeSea feeds wx ch especially during weather.
30W? Late evening movies.
I have, on fixed dishes, 30, 99*, 103, & 125
*for news feed, no 'channels'.

They have mentioned pretty much other good options, 30w is good as mentioned for US movies and some US series.
I also have a fixed one on 95w for CCTV News and Docs from China in English.

30 degrees is pretty low to the horizon.

Are you sure that is viewable from the midwest?

What movies are you talking about?

EBRU on 97w has a lot of good stuff.
If you’re a Doctor Who fan they run that fairly often.. :cheer2:

Recently 30w ran Gravity and The Hunger Games in English with Spanish subtitles. Ususally a movie every night and many more on the weekends.

Also lots of soccer and baseball games.

Check Satbeams.com for footprint maps.

From chicago, 30w is 15° elevation, I've got it at 6°. I've gotten it with a .7 meter. But have parked a 1.2 there to combat rain fade.

Just looked at the footprint. Shocked that it's aimed at the Midwest

Just looked at the footprint.

Shocked that it's aimed at the Midwest.

Where are the movies located, and are they dvb-s?

I like 30W, but I find I watch the PBS stuff on 125W more. My personal vote would be on 125W if you can't get 30W to come in :)

I don't think his Glorystar receiver is DVB-S2 or HD...

RT and I both are LOAO!
.
I would have to cut down about 80 acres of trees to even think about 30W. Bummer.

20w Hispasat

2 things I would like to add per comments above,

Actually 30w Hispasat covers the Americas (another footprint from the same sat covers Europe), not just North America and the Caribbean, but the signal covers all the way down to South America, thus the Argentinean, Uruguayan, Colombian, Peruvian, etc. channels.
Unforutnatelty for some folks the sat will be below their horizon.

Cuban tv will have the FIFA Soccer world cup on Cubavison and TeleRebelde, from last world cup I remember that even when there were simultaneous games (usually not more than 2 at the same time), those 2 channels will have the games.
