I saw the interview on 60 Minutes. I believe some of what he is saying, but it was obvious that he is in this for the money. In the book, he said he injected McGwire many times. In the interview, he said he did it twice. Then he said when he was on the Texas Rangers, he and several others would inject each other all the time. I've never injected anything, but if I was going to do it, I sure as hell would not want someone else to be injecting me.
Canseco said that he and the others would take time out from practice to go shoot up steroids. It appeared like he would do it whenever he was in the mood. I don't know, but I think most guys have a better plan than that. Mike Wallace asked him where he had gotten his steroids, and Canseco said he could get them on any street corner. The guy lacks credibility, but it's also obvious that some players are doing it. And the 60 Minutes interview was not enough to make me want to buy or even read the book.
He once charged fans $2500 a day to come hang out with him at his house when he was under house arrest. Also charged for giving autographs. He and his book are not worth my time or money.
