Is this possible to do?

Can a new sub sign up, (be locked into a 2 year contract), use the service for 8 months, suspend the service for 4 months (while there is no use for it because the sub isn't even home), then re-activate for another 8 and then repeat the process again to fullfill the 24 month contract? Does D* care if you suspend service under contract or is the contract a 24 consecutive month contract?

its 24 active months so if you stop it after 8 when you restart it up that would be month 9

the months its shut off or on vacation mode do not count towards the contract

Ice is, as usual, dead on. If you set this up as a new sub you MIGHT be able to get it to run differently, but I really doubt it.

If your 4 months away are at a vacation home, you might be able to arrange continued service there - flip back and forth - and not extend the contract.

Best time to work it out with them is now, before any service starts.

So its a 24 month active contract and not a 24 month consecutive contract. 'Pausing' in the middle is allowed.

The copy of the contract I have has the word condecutive in it. No I did'nt search their website for the latest copy.
