It's Raining and awful PQ

Ummm... You must be getting some heavy shower... We have been getting snow, shower and winter and I haven't yet experienced satellite lost.
 
What's your satellite strength like? I would reboot and if it continues, I would call VOOM and let them know. That's not normal. You should not lose the signal with light showers.

I usually get 50/52 or better. It was raining in the evening of 12/12, satellite strength down to 8/33 no signal for all channels. Is that normal?
