We have Hopper 3 with 2 wireless joeys and 1 Access Point.. Its all been installed with no issues since 2019. Over the past 2-3 weeks we have seen occasional black screens with a big gray box "make sure your wap is on, etc.." on the wireless joey TVs.. Of course for the first 2 weeks I just hit the WPS and it reconnected, and I didnt think much of it, but after realizing it happens sometimes multiple times a day, I decided to investigate deeper.. Multiple times, i saw the issue, and ran over to the WAP and saw it was flashing (as if it was just powered on). I then noticed that even after coming back up and all leds going solid, it would sometimes just power cycle again, by itself, the leds go off, and then green starts flashing, the blue, etc. It also seems that sometimes it just stablizes and stays up. That was about a week ago, and I called dish. while on the phone with support we decided one thing we could do is replace the WAP and its power supply and see if it fixes the issue.. Well, it didn't, and it was seen again after about 2 days..

Heres the interesting thing.. this morning I decided I would call dish back again, but before that I turned on the TV (connected to the hopper 3), and when i turned it on, it triggered a WAP reset, so i then did it a few times, off, on, and reset, like clockwork.. then I unplugged the hopper and waited and plugged it back in, and now it doesnt happen anymore. I did notice a firmware version was upgraded 706 on March 6th , potentially coinciding with this issue beginning..

I did speak with somebody and they said the latest firmware version i have did make some changes related to the WAP connection. (not sure if that is true or how they would be able to find otu so quickly)

So my question is, has anybody else seen anything like this? I am thinking its not a WAP hw issue, but maybe a firmware issue in the hopper3 and it takes some up time before it starts to happen? Any recomendations? It is possible the hopper3 has a hw problem and should be replaced? or is this a firmware issue? The rep i spoke with today said i should get wired joeys instead.. what?!? Thats not an acceptable solution.

Thanks!
