“As of December 19, 2023, we regret to inform you that DISH no longer carries the local independent channel in your market. Despite our commitment to providing fair and reasonable pricing, demands from Scripps Media have presented significant challenges.
Scripps Media, the owner of this local channel, recently acquired the local media rights to air NHL Las Vegas Golden Knights games. Unfortunately, they are now insisting on significantly higher fees for this channel, even though the channel's programming, including the NHL games, is available for free over-the-air in your market.
We understand the frustration this may cause, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. In light of this situation, we want to offer a possible alternative viewing solution:

Over-the-Air Antenna: This independent local channel is still accessible for free over-the-air in your market. Consider using an antenna to continue enjoying the content.
KnightTime+ App: You can also explore the KnightTime+ App at knighttimeplus.com to stream live NHL Las Vegas Golden Knights games. This app provides an alternative way to catch your favorite team in action.”

That channel was originally on Dish as a must carry, basically they asked to be on Dish, then hopefully get higher rates for advertising , but no per sub fee.

But now that it has sports, it wants a per sub fee, either it is too high of a ask or Dish just said no for any amount.

YTTV has the same issue with stations in Phoenix, that now carry the Suns, Coyotes and the WNBA Team, wanted a per sub fee, YTTV said nope, dropped them.

Here-

A side effect of the must-carry rules is that a broadcast station cannot charge a cable television provider license fees for the program content retransmitted on the cable network under the rule. But note that must-carry is an option of the station and the station may, in lieu of must-carry, negotiate license fees as part of a retransmission consent agreement.
