KNME-DT, has upgraded PBS kids to 1080i

I just noted that KNME-DT upgraded PBS kids to 1080i on remapped ch. 5.2 rf 35.2.

The PBS kids channel looks little bitstarved at this time.

They went back to 480i 16:9 so I guess they were testing to see if they can cram in 1080i mode.

I would not be surprised if they try 720p mode next time around.

The kids won't know the difference. KNME 5 and the 5.x channels look horrific in my opinion. I'd much rather watch the E or W feeds on 125W. I have a fixed dish on that bird here in Abq. for that very purpose.

Yep, same here too, have a 1.1 meter dish and do enjoy better feeds off 125W*!

Aggravates me to no end that my local PBS (WTVS) runs the kids channel in 1080i. Kids would be just fine with a 480i channel. Use the extra bandwidth to run FNX and NHK World.
